Chicken Chops

Home made Chicken Chops have been my all time favorite snack. It is easy to prepare, healthy to eat and delicious in flavor. They can also be served as a starter for parties.

CHICKEN CHOPS

Ingredients:
ü  Chicken mince – half kg
ü  Onions – 2 medium sized
ü  Tomatoes – 2 medium sized (chopped finely)
ü  Garlic & ginger paste – 1 teaspoon
ü  Green chilies – 2 nos
ü  Peppercorns – 4 nos
ü  Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
ü  Turmeric powder – half teaspoon
ü  A pinch of whole Geera
ü  Freshly chopped coriander leaves
ü  Boiled potatoes – 4 big sized
ü  White of 2 Eggs (beaten well)
ü  Semolina (Rava) or Breadcrumbs
ü  Oil for frying
ü  Salt (to taste)

Preparation:
1.      In a pan:
Heat oil and add the peppercorns and geera. Add the onions and fry well. Once the onions are golden brown, add the garlic & ginger paste and green chilies. Sauté well. Now, add the tomatoes and fry them till they are cooked.
Add the turmeric powder, garam masala and the mince. Cook it on slow fire for approximately 10 mins. Season it with salt.
After the mince is cooked well add the freshly chopped coriander leaves.
2.      In a bowl:
Mash the boiled potatoes and season it with salt.
3.      Make balls out of the mashed potatoes and fill it with the prepared mince to form a pattie. Shape it with the help of your palm. (Refer to image no. 1)
4.      After dipping the patties in the beaten egg whites coat them with semolina.
5.      In a pan:
Add enough oil to fry the chops. Once the oil is hot enough leave the chops in it. Carefully toss them (on slow fire) ensuring that they don’t burn. (Refer image no. 2 & 3)

6.      Take them off the heat once they get a golden colour. (Image no. 4)

Serve it hot with “Maggie HOT & SWEET” ketchup.
